Before you apply
The Private Hire licence fee is:
- new application - £265.00
- renew a licence - £265.00
- wheelchair accessible - £198.75
- electric/hybrid - £194.00
- electric/hybrid - wheelchair accessible - £148.06
- transfer a licence - £60.00
- temporarily transfer a licence - £45.00
Please have the following information ready as pages time-out after 1 hour
- your contact details and date of birth
- National Insurance number
- vehicle details
- insurance details
- if a firm or partnership, the names of all proprietors or partners or any other person concerned in the keeping, employing or letting on hire of the vehicle
Applications must be accompanied by the following, you can upload these when completing the form
- proof of tax
- MOT certificate
- proof of insurance
- tariff card, if a meter is fitted
- V5 or proof of ownership (bill of sale) - for new applications or if you are transferring the plate to a new vehicle that has not previously/currently been licenced with Dover District Council
- if the vehicle owner is not a licenced driver basic DBS must be provided annually
